Primary Wing

Basant Panchmi is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of spring. The festival is also referred to as Saraswati Puja. Prayers are offered and Goddess Saraswati is worshipped as the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art and culture in India. People all over India celebrate the day by wearing yellow-coloured clothes and distributing sweets. To celebrate Basant Panchami and emphasize its importance,various activities were organised for the Primary wing students of RPS International School. The students of Grades I, II and III took part in a singing competition. Students participated with full enthusiasmand showcased their vocal prowess. Painting activity was held for the students of Grades IV and V which elicited the true essence of Basant Panchami through their vibrant art work.

On this day, our nation was declared as a newly formed Republic. To celebrate the Republic day and emphasize its importance, various activities were organised for the children of primary wing, who were overflowing with patriotism. The students of grade I showcased their creativity and nationalist sentiment by crafting tricolour badges out of eco-friendly materials. The activity ‘ Design a stamp on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ was held for the students of grade 2 and 3, which helped them express fraternity despite differences amongst each other. The students of grade 4 and 5 spoke their hearts out when they made their speech on the topic ‘What Freedom Means to Me’.

It is that time of the year again when the aromas of delicious breads can be sensed from far and wide, when the warmth of the smiles of children surpasses the cold, when everyone welcomes the new year with carols and lots of excitement. Yes, it’s Christmas time! To celebrate the birth of Jesus, many engaging activities were undertaken by students of the primary wing of RPS International School. At RPS International school, the students of grade I showcased their creativity by working on snowman craft using eco-friendly materials. The excitement and longing for the festive season was well portrayed by the students of class II as they melodiously sung Christmas rhymes and songs. The students of class III expressed their concern for the world and those around them in the activity of ‘My Christmas Wish for you’.   22nd December is celebrated as the National Mathematics Day, on the birth anniversary of the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.The day is recognised to commemorate his contribution in the field of mathematics. The children of grade 1A1 conveyed the importance of National Mathematics Day, by organising a special assembly.The assembly started with a prayer, followed by the thought of the day and a new word , "Measurement".It emphasized the utility of Mathematics beyond the classrom and that it is found in day to day life.A simple and meaningful act was performed on the topic money where the real objects were used to show how it can be easy and fun to remember numbers and it's value. This made the Math day celebration a fruitful experience for the students.

' Health is Wealth’, is a famous saying that refers to the importance of health to us. In order to inculcate the habit of healthy lifestyle , students of Class 1 A2 presented the Morning Assembly on the topic ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ on 11th December 2020. They began with the prayer followed by the thought for the day. Children came forward to talk about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle .They shared the recipe for good health. They urged their friends to eat a balanced diet, do mild exercises daily, maintain good hygiene and take enough sleep. This was followed by energetic yoga poses which was enjoyed by all the students. One of the child sang a song to motivate everyone to fight from the Corona Pandemic. The assembly was indeed a learning and enjoyable experience for the students. It was a moment of immence pleasure, to felicitate our Primary wing students for English Olympiad Competition results. Students bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions and were awarded with certificates and medals. We applauded the efforts of our bright students and congratulated them for their remarkable feat.

" -  Subhash Chandra Bose   India is known for its rich history and the sacrifices of several patriots. Today's Assembly was in commemoration of our 71st Republic Day which is observed on 26th January every year.  Students began the day with chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by Student talk on the significance of this day.  Pre  Primary wing students spoke upon National Symbols, National Colours and National Leaders.  Song and dance performances were mesmerizing and reminded us of the great Independence leaders who have fought for our freedom. Audience was enlightened to experience today's Assembly. Towards the end, our Principal ma'am shared her valuable thoughts.

Lohri, a harvest festival  was celebrated at RPS International School Sec 50 Gurugram with a lot of enthusiasm and fervor.  Lohri marks the end of the winter season .Therefore, it is a seasonal festival. It is also considered a harvest festival and it is an important day for the farmers. Amidst the cold weather of new year 2020, the school staff experienced some respite as they were involved in a spirit of celebrating Lohri, the festival of holy bonfire. The School Principal Mrs. Bindu Gupta lit the fire. Everyone worshipped the holy fire and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed to all. As they say... practical learning is the best form and today’s generation thrives on it!!! Keeping the same in mind , an educational field trip to the 'Heritage Transport Museum' was organised for students of class 3 on Thursday, 19-12-19. It proved to be a great learning opportunity for the young minds! The students of class 3 could relate their class based learning with this real life experience. The students were shown different transport sections including old means of tr avel, cycles, bikes, aeroplanes, cars, trucks and ships. In these sections, they were explained about the invention of wheel and the development of these means of transport. The students were exalted to see how people used to travel during non-mechanized era. Later, the future bike model rose their curiosity to an even higher level.
